Qualifications:

  • Science or Engineering degree required.
  • 3+ years instrument experience required.
  • Significant experience with the operation and maintenance of GC/MS instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of full laboratory processes.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data management.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all instruments under the Specialist’s area of expertise.
  • Implement and manage preventative maintenance and analyst training programs within the lab(s).
  • Train analysts on instrument operation, project manage tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Compile, verify and validate accurate data records..
  • Review and ensure QA/QC objectives are appropriate and being met.
  • Provide technical and instrumental support to operations.
  • Follow all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assist management in improving efficiencies throughout the operations.
  • Develop and review SOPs.
  • Research new methodologies and participate in R&D projects.
  • Liaise with both clients and suppliers where required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
