Qualifications:
- Science or Engineering degree required.
- 3+ years instrument experience required.
- Significant experience with the operation and maintenance of GC/MS instrumentation.
- Knowledge of full laboratory processes.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and data management.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Calibrate, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all instruments under the Specialist’s area of expertise.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance and analyst training programs within the lab(s).
- Train analysts on instrument operation, project manage tasks and troubleshooting.
- Compile, verify and validate accurate data records..
- Review and ensure QA/QC objectives are appropriate and being met.
- Provide technical and instrumental support to operations.
- Follow all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
- Assist management in improving efficiencies throughout the operations.
- Develop and review SOPs.
- Research new methodologies and participate in R&D projects.
- Liaise with both clients and suppliers where required.
- Other duties as assigned.
