WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING

As an Insurance Claim Expert, you perform a variety of insurance-related duties, with a focus on insurance claim coverage. You are responsible for processing daily operative notifications, particularly those related to cargo insurance claims, while also identifying recurring quality deviations or non-conformities throughout the life cycle and actively working towards their elimination. The successful candidate should be fully eligible to work in Vaasa, Helsinki or Turku without any need for sponsoring.

AS INSURANCE CLAIM EXPERT, YOUR WORK WILL FOCUS ON THESE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Closely work with cross functional teams to collect costs and supporting documents in timely manner to enable maximum cost recovery
• Make sure that internal processes are fully aligned to follow the insurance requirements
• Provide subject matter expertise on the insurance process, from opening to closing of claims.
• Develop and maintain internal systems for data collection and entry, financial analysis, and report generation; create and update spreadsheets and logs as necessary
• Secure that relevant information is shared with key stakeholders to mitigate the negative impact on Wärtsilä and our customers
• Constantly share lessons learned with team members to improve the overall team and process performance
• Support Root Cause analysis/investigations
• Perform extra duties or special projects related to Quality Management System when requested
• Always act in a safe manner
• Focus on achieving results, together with team members.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

• University degree on finance, business administration, or a relevant degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on complex insurance claim (especially cargo insurances) handling process including creating claim notifications, communicating with the internal and external stakeholders, creating and analysing reports
• Ability to understand different insurance types and coverages
• Capability of carrying out tasks individually as well as working effectively as part of a Team
• Competency on Microsoft Office, SAP knowledge is considered as an asset
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel for site inspections or meetings.
