The successful candidate will have proficiency in most or all of the following areas:
Management of files including pleadings, questionings, applications, pre-trial conferences, mediations and trials.
Analyze the probable outcome of claims.
Develop strategies and arguments in preparation for trial or to negotiate settlement.
Gather and examine evidence to ascertain the facts of the case.
Qualifications + Skills
A current active membership with a Canadian Law Society, with 1-3 years of demonstrated competency in insurance defence or other litigation;
Demonstrated experience synthesizing complex information and crafting clear and persuasive written and oral arguments;
Solid technical grounding in legal research demonstrating an attention to detail combined with superior evaluative and analytical abilities;
The ability to work independently and within a team; and
Strong client service skills.
