JOB DESCRIPTION
We know that people want great value combined with an excellent experience from a bank they can trust, so we launched our digital bank, Chase UK, to revolutionise mobile banking with seamless journeys that our customers love. We’re already trusted by millions in the US and we’re quickly catching up in the UK – but how we do things here is a little different. We’re building the bank of the future from scratch, channelling our start-up mentality every step of the way – meaning you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact.
As an Insurance Product Manager at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will be a part of a flat-structure organization. Your responsibilities are to deliver end-to-end cutting-edge solutions in the form of cloud-native microservices architecture applications leveraging the latest technologies and the best industry practices. You are expected to be involved in the design and architecture of the solutions while also focusing on the entire SDLC lifecycle stages.
Our Insurance team is at the heart of this venture, focused on getting smart ideas into the hands of our customers. We’re looking for people who have a curious mindset, thrive in collaborative squads, and are passionate about new technology. By their nature, our people are also solution-oriented, commercially savvy and have a head for fintech. We work in tribes and squads that focus on specific products and projects – and depending on your strengths and interests, you’ll have the opportunity to move between them. You will be part of a highly motivated team that is driven to deliver high quality insurance product propositions, fair pricing and delightful customer experience to our customers. The successful candidate will be highly analytical, numerate, customer centric and commercially savvy to be able to use these skills - to identify areas for development with the existing insurance products and upcoming insurance products and using commercial/statistical modelling to get these prioritised and implemented with the Product Development and wider teams to implement these ideas/changes/new initiatives.
While we’re looking for professional skills, culture is just as important to us. We understand that everyone’s unique – and that diversity of thought, experience and background is what makes a good team, great. By bringing people with different points of view together, we can represent everyone and truly reflect the communities we serve. This way, there’s scope for you to make a huge difference – on us as a company, and on our clients and business partners around the world
Job responsibilities:
- Understand the Insurance landscape and opportunity, considering customer needs and value, commercial factors, market, competitors, insurers and brokers, regulation, risk, controls, team’s capacity/pace, business strategy, OKRs and context
- Benchmarking our insurance products and services and leverage this insight with the insurers
- Working with our insurance partners to identify and implement initiatives to improve the underlying performance of the insurance products, helping to keep prices competitive for our customers while not compromising on the comprehensive cover that we want to provide – ensure best and fair value/economic exchange between Chase, customers and insurers
- Commercial/Statistical Modelling impact of all proposed initiatives to ensure that Stakeholders are properly informed of the potential impacts of changes. Identifying where risk would be managed with AB Testing and implementing and reviewing these
- Collaborate with the Product Development team to identify, develop and communicate business requirements
- Ensure product is properly measured and provides value and good outcomes to the customer
- Analysing commercial negotiations with Insurers, performing modelling to assess the impact on trading metrics and providing feedback to the Commercial Manager
- Co-ordinate the materials for the quarterly and monthly business reviews with Insurers, ICIF and other forums – plus review various reports and Management Information and providing challenge where performance needs to be improved
- Put plans/ideas and assist towards the discovery process
- Monitor KPIs (including commercial) and take action to achieve them (more efficiently); measure success
- Use data (VOC, usage etc) from the previous iteration to inform and shape the next
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Experience of the UK General Insurance Market
- Experience working with banking, insurance or other product journeys and customer experience, ability to develop understanding of the UK insurance buying behaviours
- Experience of working in an Agile environment, and driving projects with cross-functional colleagues and stakeholders
- Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple, conflicting priorities and deadlines without compromising quality
- Experience of data analysis, ability to identify relevant KPIs and use these to identify opportunities and model potential impacts
