Description:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance/ Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Finance, Computer Science, (or a related field), or insurance-related professional certification (e.g., ACAS, ARM, CRM)
- 2+ years of experience in the insurance industry or a related field, analytically minded, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Knowledge and understanding of business insurance lines, insurance policy forms and wordings, insurance market dynamics, and conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the transportation or technology sector’s risk landscape is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various audiences.
- Experience with data analytics tools including SQL, R, Python, Tableau, and/or PowerBI
- Ability to analyze datasets, identify trends and anomalies, and translate data into actionable business strategies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google equivalent
- Team player. You rely on others’ candid feedback for continuous improvement
- Ability to deal well with ambiguity, multi-tasking, and perform under tight deadlinesSelf-motivated, with a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm about Uber and our mission
Responsibilities:
We’re disrupting the transportation space, reinventing insurance protection, and growing in the U.S. and worldwide! Insurance is a uniquely strategic function at Uber and this is a very different role than traditional corporate risk manager roles. You get to work with sharp, motivated co-workers in a fun and fast-paced office environment while working with the insurance industry to create some of the most complex and innovative insurance products on the market today. We have in-house actuaries, data scientists, legal and safety experts, insurance attorneys, engineers, technical underwriters, product development resources, and a Rolodex unmatched across the sharing economy.
What You’ll Do
- Help gather and analyze data to facilitate the management and renewal of Uber’s insurance programs
- Track administration of Uber’s insurance programs including COIs, policy issuance, binders, invoices, payment status, etc
- Conduct research, and analytics, and provide operational support to help optimize existing driver/rider-purchased insurance products and identify new opportunities
- Stay abreast of new trends and insurance product developments in the rideshare/sharing economy sector
- Work directly with our internal business partners and brokers

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$131,000 per year - USD$145,500 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber’s bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
