As an Insurance Technician on the Insurance and Bonding team, you will be in charge of underwriting with our insurers for our projects. Supporting our work in building large-scale building and infrastructure projects - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - you will play a key role in protecting Pomerleau’s interests by ensuring the compliance of our insurance and bonding.

Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Help analyze specifications, contracts, tender documents, etc. to determine our customers’ insurance and bonding needs.
- Help underwrite, extend, modify, terminate/cancel insurance and surety policies on our construction sites.
- Verify the validity of insurance policies and surety bonds and request amendments, if necessary, when they are underwritten by the customer.
- Carry out technical follow-up with project teams (extension of work, increase/decrease in cost of work, changes in nature of work, etc.).
- Obtain contractual documents required to terminate insurance policies and bonds at the end of a project.
- Collaborate with our insurance and bonding brokers.
- Maintain our files, tracking tables and database.
- Coordinate the review and issuance of insurance certificates.
- Verify invoicing and forward to Accounts Payable Department.
THIS ROLE COULD BE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE
- DEC in insurance consulting and/or financial services, DEC in administrative techniques, insurance option, or an AEC in property and casualty insurance.
- 2 to 4 years’ relevant work experience.
- Fluency in both official languages written and oral (English and French).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Adaptability and autonomy.
- Be rigorous, meticulous and organized.
- Enjoy working in a team, with dynamic people!
Additional Asset Include:
- Knowledge of the construction industry.
