SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the RSS Employment Program Director and or RSS Employment Program Manager the Intake Specialist assists community members seeking to access Refugee Employment services by conducting eligibility screenings, sharing up-do-date information about programs, connecting eligible community members with refugee program services, and referring them to external service providers when needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education
- Associate’s degree preferred but not required; or equivalent of 1 year experience in a social service environment that demonstrates a sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural populations.
- Bilingual, Spanish – Preferred
- License and Credentials
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license; Valid vehicle insurance, clean driving record
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- A solid grasp of file documentation and record keeping.
- A solid grasp of data entry software such as excel and adobe.
- Knowledge of State and Federal Contracts and Grants.
- Knowledge of Program Manuals and Operational Guidelines.
- Knowledge of client files documentation and record keeping.
- Skilled in using personal computer, various software, email and internet
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
- Must have good written and verbal skills.
- Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct initial interviews with new clients to gather relevant information, including demographics, contact details, and reasons for seeking services
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and eligibility criteria for all programs and conduct eligibility screenings for clients.
- Schedule appointments for clients with appropriate team members, considering client availability and staff schedules.
- Detail each client interaction in accordance with established requirements. Input client information in database(s) and assist with tracking, case noting and reporting as needed.
- Support client enrollment into programs for which they qualify and refer ineligible clients to community resources.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to coordinate service delivery and ensure comprehensive support.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation.
- Prepare initial case assessments and progress reports.
- Attend relevant training and workshops to stay updated on resettlement policies and best practices.
- Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
