ARE YOU THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Integration Specialist to join our IT team at Routeco, a leading distributor of industrial automation solutions.
In this technical role, you will be responsible for integrating the company’s diverse business systems with each other and with external platforms such as supplier EDI systems, finance and banking platforms. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing operational efficiency as the business transitions from a legacy ERP system (OneOffice) to a new ERP platform over the next two years.
Additionally, you will be a key contributor to the integration of our new automated warehouse, featuring an AutoStore system, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange between this platform and other business systems.
This is a hands-on technical role that requires expertise in integration technologies, proficiency in Microsoft .NET, REST API development, and scripting in Python and JavaScript.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong experience with Microsoft .NET for integration and API development.
- Experience with source control platforms such as git.
- Expertise in writing and consuming REST APIs.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience in integrating legacy and modern systems.
- Familiarity with data migration processes and tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS:
- SQL Server (T-SQL, Stored Procedures)
- Code quality, unit testing and SOLID principles
- XML / XSLT transformations
- Informix
- Unix system administration / Shell scripting
- PowerShell
- MS Power platform
- MS Dynamics (CRM)

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations between internal business systems and external platforms (e.g., EDI, finance, and banking systems).
- Manage the integration and data migration efforts during the transition from OneOffice to a new ERP system, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Collaborate with the warehouse automation team to implement and support integrations for the AutoStore system.
- Write, consume, and manage REST APIs to enable seamless system interactions.
- Develop and maintain scripts using Python and JavaScript to support integration workflows.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical integration solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues to maintain operational reliability.
- Ensure all integrations are secure, efficient, and compliant with company policies and industry standards.
- Document integration processes and provide training or support to relevant stakeholders as required.
- Stay updated on emerging integration technologies and recommend improvements to the integration landscape.
