Description:

Members of JANA’s Innovation Team, JANA’s Integrity Analysts are responsible for the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of JANA’s core risk modelling technology. Applying an understanding our clients JTBD, the latest in industry regulations and risk modelling approaches, JANA’s Integrity Analysts ensure that our models are technically sound and deliver the insights our clients need to make the best decisions about the safety and integrity of their pipeline systems. JANA’s Integrity Analysts also work to ensure the proper implementation of the risk models, developing the processes required to deliver, supporting JANA’s Delivery Team through initial deployments of the model and helping our clients understand how to use the results.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitors and refines models based on market needs and new industry regulations.
  • Ensures pipeline integrity threats and consequences are appropriately addressed in risk modeling approaches
  • Executes on technical aspects of piping system Integrity Management, Risk Assessment consulting and Risk Model Development projects
  • Under direction from Principal Engineers, performs risk analysis on specific pipeline assets
  • Reviews and analyzes asset specific information to identify risks, threats, and mitigations
  • Develops engineering solutions by applying data analysis techniques, including Reliability modeling and prediction, Fault Tree Analysis, Weibull Analysis, Root-Cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCA, RCFA)
  • Stays current with pipeline regulations, industry standards, integrity assessment methods, etc.
  • Writes reports and provides quality peer-review and release on reports, as required
  • Develops processes required to implement new and updated risk models
  • Provides support and training for JANA’s Delivery Team through initial deployments of the model
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

Required Skills & Experience

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in a STEM field, preferable in Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics
  • Experience with advanced statistical and mathematical techniques, including probabilistic models
  • Hands-on and able to code as needed.
  • P. Eng designation in progress.
  • 2+ years of risk management or reliability engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and devise innovative solutions, even when faced with ambiguity.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Prior work experience in the oil & gas industry is an asset.
  • Experience with Python and SQL is an asset.
