TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required

  • M.Sc. or PhD in Science but preferably in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or Biology
  • Pertinent experience in the field of intellectual property in developing patent portfolios
  • Pertinent experience in patent prosecution
  • Familiar with patent databases

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement standards ensuring procurement of patents of the highest quality and business relevance.

Responsibilities:

  • Interacting with Corporate and/or Business Units on proprietary findings and disclosures.
  • Developing Proprietary information and disclosures into patent filings.
  • Performing patentability searches.
  • Drafting provisional and complete patent applications; and prosecuting patent applications including drafting responses and liaising with outside patent counsel.
  • Coordinating international extension filings.
  • Providing assistance and support with oppositions, due diligences, acquisitions and litigation matters and advising on IP related matters.
  • Performing freedom-to-operate searches regarding third party patent rights.
  • Providing assistance and support with the daily management of Lallemand’s patent portfolios - including payment of annuities.
  • Other duties as may be required
