Description:

VESTAS TECHNOLOGY & OPERATIONS > INNOVATION & CONCEPTS > ENG. DEVELOPMENT & INTERFACE MGM, (EDIM)

Vestas Technology & Operation (VTO) is where new product ideas or technologies are matured, developed, tested, and improved. To put it short, Vestas Technology & Operation is the cornerstone of Vestas. We are shaping the future of modern energy.
The Interface Management team is a highly motivated team, responsible for handling, defining, and ensuring that both short and long-term targets are met for HOW we control, and manage physical design envelopes, interfaces across our wind turbine platforms and modules and our scalable product definitions. The focus on Geometrical Interfaces is expanding towards, energy, material a informational Interfaces and the team will grow according to this vision.
The department naturally interfaces with all major turbine design areas and must host the design process to guarantee increasingly efficient design machinery and physical integrity for our turbines. To achieve this goal, the department is also responsible for the validation process for the CAD model quality and the strategy for incorporating the new interfaces into our Architecture.
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to take on the role of Interface Management Specialist, Module & Interface Model Owner. The suitable candidate will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, and governance of the weight management model, while also being responsible for guiding the design teams in the identification, classification, and definition of interface requirements. This role involves significant collaboration with multiple engineering domains and stakeholders, and ensuring that all system interfaces and components function seamlessly together.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals (MSc in mathematics, physics, computer science etc) and a comprehensive understanding of multiple engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software, aerospace)
  • Systems thinking ability to comprehend the system as a whole and its interactions
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders across multiple domains
  • Demonstrated ability to view the system holistically and experience in handling multiple engineering domains, considering the entire lifecycle from conceptual design to transport, construction, and maintenance of the product
  • Proficiency with system modelling languages such as SysML, UML, Simulink and programming languages such as Python/MatLab for rapid prototyping
  • Experience with software design and software interfaces, network communication, and protocols in the OSI model

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, document, and verify interface requirements and characteristics
  • Audit Configuration Items (CIs) for data for compatibility at the interfaces, for quality and compliance. Ensure system integration is seamless by utilizing model-based methods
  • Manage hardware and software interface requirements across engineering domains
  • Conduct stakeholder analysis and document interface requirements using MBSE tools and techniques
  • Coordinate data structure, storage, and movement of interface and configuration requirements in the system, setting governance policies
  • Develop model-based engineering capabilities in interface management to identify and control change propagation in the product and throughout the value-chain

Model Owner Role Specific responsibilities:

  • Manage the Module & Interface library model, including verification and validation
  • Govern the inputs to the model, communicate the results to stakeholders, and oversee change management and funding of the model
  • Ensure the model contains accurate interface requirements of module variants of the produc
