We have the ability to grow and build a variety of products, including potted plants and planters, outdoor lawn and garden plants, and vegetable propagation in the best conditions.
Reporting to the Head Grower, the IPM Lead is a key player within the Green Team by supporting the growing of high quality floral and veg crops through the successful implementation and administration of an in-house IPM program. The individual in this position should possess a keen eye for quality assurance, above average accuracy and organizational skills, be able to problem solve, have excellent follow-through

Education and experience required

  • College Degree or higher in Agriculture, Horticulture or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in growing or IPM
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage timelines to ensure delivery of objectives
  • Ability to adapt positively to a fast paced, challenging and constantly changing work environment
  • Demonstrated skills in relationship building and influencing to achieve results
  • Strong team player with self-discipline and motivation to work independently
  • Strong organizational, planning and strategic execution skills
  • Basic MS Office and ERP Systems skills, experience with MS Business Central would be an asset
  • Flexibility with schedule - hours may vary and be able to work extended hours during peak harvest periods, weekends, Holidays
  • Ability to obtain a Pesticide Applicators License
  • Growing and Production experience in Annuals and Seasonal Floral crops is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the Green, Sales and Logistics Teams to develop an in-house IPM program to ensure objectives and protocols are achieved on schedule, delivering cost effective IPM solutions resulting in high quality on time in full crops.
  • Daily crop monitoring, scouting and reporting of pest and diseases for the Leamington and Kingsville facilities
  • Analyzing, ordering and implementing effective IPM solutions, measuring results while tracking program budget adherence
  • Overseeing biological and chemical crop treatments, posting signage and following safety protocols
  • Collecting samples for lab analysis and acting on findings
  • Compiling IPM program reports for review
  • Overseeing Biosecurity protocols and reinforce when required
