Robert Half is pleased to be partnering with an acquisitive, fast growth organisation to recruit an Interim Financial Controller.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to oversee the financial management and planning of the UK business. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in strategic finance, strong analytical skills, and the ability to contribute to business growth while maintaining financial stability. A strong technical accounting background and experience within an SME or private equity environment, would be highly advantageous.
Location: Near Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: Up to £400 per day (dependent on experience)
Reporting to: Chief Finance Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management & Reporting:


    • Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.

    • Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
    • Manage cash flow, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs.
    • Operational Finance Oversight:


      • Lead and manage the finance team to ensure efficient financial operations.

      • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and systems.
      • Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and treasury functions.
      • Stakeholder Management:


        • Present financial updates to the board and key stakeholders.

        • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
        • Build strong relationships across internal teams and external partners.
        • Business Partnering:


          • Provide financial guidance and support to department heads.

          • Contribute to strategic initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, and funding strategies.
