JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone skilled in 2D drafting and specification drawings, with a working knowledge of 3D modelling. You will play an essential role in supporting our design projects and contributing to our mission of showcasing African contemporary design on a global stage. Applicants residing around the Ikeja area will have an added advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree or HND in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating comprehensive Interior Design Packages (e.g., floor plans, furniture plans, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical plans, elevations, and details).
• Knowledge of architectural interior design concepts, design codes, construction documentation, and specifications.
• Familiarity with interior materials, finishes, and detailing, including residential furniture lines for sourcing, specifying, and pricing.
• Design Skills:
• Ability to select and develop interior finishes and prepare specification packages.
• Confidently create colour palettes and finish vision boards for clients.
• Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max, SketchUp, Microsoft Office and an accompanying Rendering software
• Organizational Skills: Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and collaborative approach to working with the team.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with lead and associate designers, assisting them responsibly to meet deadlines.
• Mindset: Growth-oriented and eager to contribute to a collaborative, innovative team environment.

• Design Drafting: Create accurate 2D drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and detailed specification drawings, to support design concepts and project execution.
• 3D Modelling: Assist with 3D modelling and visualization using tools such as 3ds Max, Revit, and SketchUp, ensuring designs are presented with clarity and impact.
• Research & Sourcing: Identify and source materials, furniture, and finishes, ensuring they meet design requirements and project budgets.
• Project Budgets & Estimates: Assist in creating project budgets, estimates, and presentations for Lead Designers.
• Sample Management: Order and organize samples, finishes, and material swatches for projects.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including technical drawings, schedules, and specification sheets.
• Office Organization: Maintain the office and design library, ensuring materials and resources are well-organized.
• Styling & Decorating: Support installation by assisting with styling and decorating project spaces to align with the design concept.
• Client & Vendor Communication: Correspond with clients, staff, and sales reps via email and phone to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the design team, artisans, and contractors to ensure project goals are met.
• Administrative Support: Track orders, maintain schedules, and assist with office tasks as required.
