JOB DESCRIPTION: INTERIOR DESIGNER – RETAIL DESIGN & DELIVERY APPROVALS

We are seeking a talented and experienced Interior Designer with a strong background in reviewing and approving interior fit-out drawings for retail spaces. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Retail Design & Delivery (RDD) approval processes and demonstrate expertise in creating and ensuring compliance with high-quality interior design standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in interior design with a focus on retail spaces and approval processes for interior fit-out drawings.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Retail Design & Delivery (RDD) approval processes, building codes, and industry best practices.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and provide constructive feedback.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in reviewing drawings and ensuring design quality.
• Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder relationships.

1. Design Review & Approval

• Evaluate and approve interior fit-out drawings, ensuring they meet Retail Design & Delivery (RDD) guidelines, brand standards, and project requirements.
• Conduct detailed checks on drawings to verify alignment with design concepts, functionality, and compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

1. Collaboration with Stakeholders

• Work closely with architects, contractors, and consultants to provide feedback and guidance on design submissions.
• Act as the main liaison between clients, project teams, and RDD teams to facilitate the approval process.
• Resolve design discrepancies and provide practical solutions to maintain project timelines.

1. Project Management Support

• Ensure all approved designs align with the project schedule and budget.
• Monitor the implementation of fit-out works to confirm adherence to approved designs and standards.
• Coordinate and attend site visits as required to verify progress and quality control.

1. Compliance and Standards

• Stay updated on relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations related to interior fit-out.
• Ensure all submissions meet the highest standards of design, sustainability, and functionality.
• Maintain documentation and records of all approved drawings and correspondence related to RDD approvals.

1. Innovative Design Solutions

• Provide creative input to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of retail spaces while maintaining compliance with brand identity.
• Recommend materials, finishes, and furnishings in line with project goals and RDD requirements.
