As we scale into the next phase, we are looking for our first Vancouver-based Intermediate Accountant to join our Finance team!
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate financial operations. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and communication skills.
The Intermediate Accountant plays a critical role in CoPilot AI’s ambitious growth plans and seamlessly combines industry knowledge, innovative vision, emotional intelligence, thought leadership, and a solutions-driven approach to promote excellence in alignment with CoPilot AI’s people-first culture.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (QuickBooks).
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Revenue Recognition: Apply SaaS-specific revenue recognition principles and monitor deferred revenue accounts.
- Payroll: Assist with tracking expense reimbursements and preparing bi-weekly payroll reports (ADP).
- Accounts Receivable: Oversee the invoicing process to ensure accurate billing within the system (Stripe).
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices in a timely manner and manage our virtual credit card payment system (Float).
- Audit Compliance: Assist with the annual review engagement and liaise with our external auditors.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns in a timely manner to comply with government regulations and deadlines.
- Process Improvements: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial operations and enhance efficiency.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.
