JOB DESCRIPTION
- Perform a variety of assignments that require the application of moderate-to-advanced design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria with limited guidance from senior engineers.
- Support planning, research, design, engineering, and preparation of plans and specifications.
- Lead the collection and analysis of data.
- Development of project manuals including plans and specifications.
- Assists in project management including client interaction, project budget and schedule control, and coordination of quality control procedures.
- Support the administration and on-site observation of marine construction projects.
- Participate in proposal preparation and interviews, attract new clients, and retain clients as necessary.
- Work across our different offices and time zones.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. in Civil, Ocean, or Coastal Engineering or a closely related engineering category from an accredited University or College (M.S. preferred).
- Professional Credentials: either a Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Minimum of 5 years of coastal or marine engineering experience, in a consulting or contractor role.
- Demonstrated experience in project design or construction experience involving coastal and marine structures, ecosystem restoration or navigation & dredging.
- Flexible work style, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment, meet challenging deadlines and client needs.
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of codes and standards relative to coastal engineering.
- Ability to clearly document the basis of design including the documentation of design codes and standards, data analysis, assumptions, calculations, and conclusions.
- Construction experience related to waterfront and coastal projects.
- Some domestic and international travel will be required to undertake the job duties described above. Travel may be planned or on an immediate basis and the candidate will need to be flexible in meeting project deadlines.
