We are currently seeking an Intermediate Computational Analyst/Mechanical Engineer in our Calgary office. Responsibilities:

  • Stress analysis, mechanical design, and modeling associated with general static equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, coke drums, tanks, piping, floating structures, machine parts and assemblies, etc.) under various conditions
  • Application of fundamental structural analysis principles to verify numerical results
  • Develop special purpose in-house engineering programs & tools
  • Preparation of technical reports and proposals
  • Field visits to client facilities to examine client identified problems and to support business development
  • Independent management and coordination of projects, as well as providing support to other internal projects, as required
  • Client liaison and technical/capability presentations to current and potential clients
  • Participation in professional associations and preparation of papers/presentations

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer with 5+ years of experience
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA
  • Graduate degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (MSc or PhD)
  • Advanced experience with ABAQUS finite element package (Linear and Nonlinear)
  • Thorough knowledge of Python scripting
  • Proactive with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • A strong desire to learn and advance their career and our company
