Description:
The opportunity: Our client, the Department of National Defence (DND), is seeking intermediate data entry clerks. You will support DND in clearing a substantial backlog of files accumulated over the past two years from retired military members.
Contract: October 28, 2024 to March 31, 2025
Location: 60 Moodie Drive, Ottawa ON (remote work is not permitted)
Security: Valid Reliability clearance
Language: English
What you will bring:
- Secondary school diploma
- 12 months of relevant data entry experience performing duties similar to the following:
- Entering data from various sources and formats into an electronic computer according to pre-described format
- Verifying data entered by checking printouts for errors and correcting as required
- Assisting in data collection and compilation
- Identifying, labelling and storing diskettes, disks and tapes
- Organizing data according to user requirements
- Filing or routing source documents after entry
What you will achieve:
- Lift and carry boxes from the storage room to their work area.
- Prepare the files, including removing staples, organizing documents in a specified order, and discarding unnecessary materials, according to DCS’s standard operating procedures.
- Count the number of pages and complete log sheets with this data, which must be provided to the supervisor.
- Lift and carry boxes from their work area back to the storage room.
- The contractor must prepare at least six boxes per week, with each box containing 2,000 to 2,500 sheets of paper. All work must be completed onsite at 60 Moodie Drive.
