The Intermediate Electrical & Control Designer works on all aspects of electrical design on various projects. The Electrical Designer supports the Electrical Engineers with EPC, Fabrication and Industrial project layout & design.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

May include but are not limited to:

  • Assist engineers with design and drawing requirements
  • Establish drawing set-up procedures applicable to the job for drafting personnel
  • Conceptualize plans, details and sections to accurately convey construction or fabrication requirements
  • Check and back-check drawings
  • Coordinate and analyze vendor supplied drawings and incorporate the required information into project drawings
  • Adhere to policies and procedures relating to health and safety and quality management
  • Adhere to policies and procedures relating to administrative, drafting and engineering management
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited technical institution
  • 2+ 5+ years of electrical and control design and AutoCAD and CADworx experience
  • 7+ 3+ years experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically in an EPCM environment

SKILLS

  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with designers, project managers and other members of the team
  • Knowledge of hazardous area electrical systems
  • Proficient in current release of AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Microsoft Excel
  • Thorough understanding and efficiency with standard design and drafting practices
  • Must be familiar with applicable standards and acceptable industry practices
    This role could be either contractor or employee hourly and the range is $30-60/Hour depending on job specific experience, years of total work experience and education.
    We are a hybrid work environment with 3 days in office and 2 days optional from a home office. We support flexibility, diversity and a work/life balance.
