RVA is looking for a talented Intermediate Engineer to join their Municipal team in the Toronto office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold an active P. Eng designation with the ability to practice in the province of Ontario
- 5-10 years’ experience in conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of road, linear water main and sewer projects is essential
- Must be proficient in municipal design engineering and managing projects for large municipal agencies
- Must possess practical knowledge of construction sequencing and constructability
- Experience working in AutoCAD and Microstation
- Familiar with local design and construction standards
- Understanding of requirements for obtaining permits and approvals
- Experience with municipal and provincial road design guidelines
- Proven, advanced level Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Demonstrates superior English communication and presentation skills both oral and written
- Must possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients
- Aptitude for meeting timelines and budgets, and other skills appropriate to consulting
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, team environment

Responsibilities:
- Providing project engineering and technical expertise, analysis and design services on municipal linear projects
- Responsible for carrying out preliminary and detailed designs
- Preparing cost estimates, specifications and contract documents
- Tendering and supporting contract administration staff
- Coordinating studies and assessments
- Liaising with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies and utility companies and contractors
- Working closely with engineers, designers, drafting and support staff
- Collaborate with staff among all levels of the company and other stakeholders to meet deliverables on multiple projects at any given time
- Participates in the training, development and mentoring of junior staff
- Other duties as assigned that are relevant to the position
- Participating in Business Development initiatives
