THE OPPORTUNITY:
At WSP, we’re continuing to grow and develop our expertise in Geotechnical Engineering, operating as a trusted advisor and technical expert on engineering design challenges for our clients across multiple industries. Our team is growing, and as a result, we’re seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Ground Engineering West Group in WSP’s Etobicoke and Mississauga offices on a full-time basis.
As an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer, a day in life involves working in the office on projects and assignments related to geotechnical engineering. You will work closely with our tight-knit team, be mentored by industry experts, and work on various projects throughout the province .
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support in geotechnical projects including field investigation, laboratory test result interpretation; design and construction; and geotechnical analyses
- Assist senior team members in preparing proposals, cost estimates, geotechnical studies, and engineering reports for projects of low to high complexity
- Lead the planning of geotechnical site investigations and support field supervisors
- Complete geotechnical analyses including bearing capacity, settlement, and slope stability under the direction and supervision of senior engineers
- Prepare geotechnical studies and engineering reports providing recommendations on various geotechnical aspects of projects
- Work on or manage projects of various sizes providing not only technical input but also mentorship and support to junior staff
- Work collaboratively with engineering staff from various teams on geotechnical consulting projects
- Participate in and promote a safety-first culture
