INTERMEDIATE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (ON-SITE, ST THOMAS, ONTARIO)

The Intermediate Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for managing the production floor processes and equipment, including but not limited to new equipment launches and modifications. They are also responsible for ensuring that the equipment is designed and built to correct safety standards, labour utilization and cost effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the implementation of new and modified manufacturing processes by researching, designing, testing and conferring with equipment vendors as required
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout for waste elimination and business cost-savings opportunities
  • Utilize data collection to make informed decisions
  • Design and implement new tooling as required
  • Provide daily production support and troubleshooting as required
  • Develop standard operating procedures and assist in training
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules and estimating future requirements
  • Coordinate prototype and production runs through new program launches
  • Support the Engineering Change System through analyzing and approving changes
  • Support PPAP runs as required
  • Assist in the creation of PFMEA, control plans, and other APQP / stage gate related tasks
