AWC Water Solutions Ltd. specializes and has provided over 550 integrated water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants. Along with this specialisation, AWC also has experience in many other industrial packaged solutions.
Clients are offered advanced in-house consulting, engineering & design; with 3D modeling, piloting, fabrication (including machining and control panel fabrication/ assembly), system testing and a full range of field services. This allows AWC to provide turn-key solutions for the self fabricated packages.

AWC is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team as an Intermediate Mechanical Designer in AWC’s Design/CADD department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the design of mechanical equipment for water and wastewater treatment systems using Autodesk Inventor 3-D drafting software.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or Diploma from Technical Institutions with CAD courses.
- 5-10 Years of experience in mechanical design of equipment and packages.
- Experience in the manufacturing process would be an asset.
- Registration as a CET in BC or Alberta would be considered an asset.
- Understanding of basic mechanical and structural engineering design principles would be an asset.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor 3-D and AutoCAD drafting software is required.
- Experience in water and wastewater treatment process design would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with other colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of drawings and 3D models to create system designs, including Fabrication Drawings, Assembly Drawings, Erection Drawings, Bills of Materials, General Arrangement Drawings, Equipment Layouts, PFD & P&ID drafting, and support the development of change orders, etc.
- Act as design team lead on projects
- Collaborate with internal departments (fabrication, sales, etc.) and external stakeholders (vendors, owners, owners’ engineers, etc.) to achieve desired project outcomes.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and technologies through training and self-improvement initiatives.
- Support the sales teams with proposals and cost estimates.
- Aid in the continual improvement of AWC’s Quality Management System’s practices, procedures, templates, and checklists by participating in design reviews, feedback sessions, and process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Travel as required across North America and potentially further afield to visit project sites, client facilities, tradeshows, etc. (less than 10%)
- Mentor junior team members.
