OVERVIEW

Lauren Services is looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer.
The preferred individual should have a well rounded mechanical engineering/design experience within the midstream energy, industrial and/or mining industries. The applicant must have a minimum of 6 years of experience. Additionally, strong interpersonal skills and working experience in a project team environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide guidance on the development of conceptual layouts and engineering drawings, P&ID’s
  • Design and analyze mechanical systems and equipment including pressure vessels, pumps, valves and piping systems
  • Knowledge of Materials Engineering would be an asset
  • Create mechanical equipment component lists and materials selection
  • Prepare vendor RFQ documentation
  • Collaborate with in-house engineers, project managers and clients on mechanical design concepts and drawings developing, recommending and troubleshooting effective working solutions and ensuring project successes.
  • Providing technical support to field personnel

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4-8 years of formal training and experience in engineering design and EPC projects
  • Experience with equipment, equipment packages, piping and pipe design is an asset, turbine compression experience as asset
  • Must be licensed as a professional engineer registered, or eligible for registration, with EGBC or APEGA
  • Must be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices, including ASME B31.3 and CSA Z662 (an asset)

SKILLS

  • Experience related to small, medium and major Projects, phase gated project processes, NG compression, and Supply Chain Management procurement processes are an asset
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with peers, project managers, site managers and clients
  • Must have a proven track record of accomplishment as a design engineer and be capable of working in a team of engineers, designers and support personnel
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Sharepoint and Bluebeam
    This role could be either contractor or employee hourly and the range is $50-70/Hour depending on job specific experience, years of total work experience and education.
