REQUIREMENTS

  • B.Sc. degree in Mining Engineering.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening).
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to positively interact with co-workers and team members with a diverse mix of cultures.
  • Proficiency with mine planning computer software (Deswik and Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Willingness and capability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced and high-pressure, safe production oriented setting.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE

Reporting directly to the Senior Engineer – Mine Planning, the Intermediate Mine Planner will be critical in providing support to the engineering senior leadership, midterm planning, operations planning, and mine planning teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce detailed economic tradeoff studies to evaluate short and medium term resource and mining method business decisions.
  • Investigate, report, and resolve operational bottlenecks and constraints.
  • Support short, medium, and long term scheduling teams with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Supporting the mine planning team with design, conceptual, and reconciliatory work, when required.
