Our in-house engineering team work collaboratively with our clients to select the best process and design a custom package to reliably meet their environmental, financial and quality standards requirements. We also offer clients advanced in-house consultation, project management, engineering & design, 3D modeling and piloting services.
AWC Water Solutions has over 40 years of history and we have designed, manufactured and delivered over 500 water and wastewater treatment plants across North America and internationally. We are headquartered in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, with a satellite office in Calgary, Alberta and a network of remote operators and experts across North America. Overview
AWC Water Solutions has enjoyed double-digit revenue growth over the past several years. We have recently increased our production capabilities and are constantly adding new technologies to our portfolio of water and wastewater treatment solutions. We are targeting further accelerated growth across North America over the next several years.
We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to become a key member of the AWC Water Solutions team. The Process Engineer will report to the Chief Engineer and will be responsible for various process engineering requirements for our water and wastewater treatment plant projects, collaborating with our engineering, project management and production teams and supporting our R&D program.
Responsibilities
- Develop process engineering designs for a variety of water and wastewater treatment plant projects from concept through completion;
- Provide process engineering support related to mechanical, electrical and instrumentation & control engineering;
- Review water and wastewater treatment plant project specifications and contractual documentation to complete process engineering tasks, including P&IDs, heat & mass balance, process descriptions, process design criteria, PFDs, equipment sizing sheets, battery limit tables, HazOps, chemical and utility requirements lists, O&M manuals, as well as process modeling simulations, when necessary;
- Support multiple simultaneous projects at varying stages of completion (from proposal phase, to the engineering phase and finally the start-up & commissioning phase);
- Provide technical presentations and/or training to clients, employees and other stakeholders.
- Support and perform bench scale jar testing and pilot system testing.
- Support various R&D initiatives to maintain our position as a technology leader.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5 to 10 years of process engineering experience in the municipal or industrial sectors in North America. Experience with water and wastewater treatment processes would be an asset.
- Minimum 3 years directly involved in the design, manufacturing and operation of water and wastewater treatment capital equipment.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain registration.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following technical areas:
- water treatment design basics including flocculation, sedimentation and granular media filtration
- dissolved air flotation
- membrane system design
- wastewater treatment design basics including conventional activated sludge, MBBR, and MBR technologies as well as a thorough understanding of nitrification and denitrification processes
- pumping system design
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects at varying stages of completion.
- Hands on, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced business environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
