Description:

Global Resource Design Corp. currently has an opportunity for an Intermediate Project Engineer to join our growing team in Calgary. GRD has fast paced, challenging and ongoing career opportunities for the right candidates.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience, preferable mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years previous experience in the mining or resources industry essential. Will be considered a plus having worked for an EPCM type of company.
  • Previous home office and field experience as a project engineer on complex / heavy process industry projects is desirable.
  • Competent to specify and interrogate detailed plans and reports for all disciplines including cost and schedule control and estimating.
  • Your client focus, great communication skills and commitment to compliance will be highly regarded in this dynamic environment.
  • Your fluency in English language will be considered an asset.
  • Your ability to prioritize, plan and organize work tasks, as well as developing and preparing scopes of work will be a factor of success for the position.
    Contractor rates are negotiable.

Responsibilities:

  • This is a project engineering role that requires a strong knowledge base in process and mechanical engineering.
  • Manage and Check Design
  • Create PEP’s, Schedules, DBM’s-
  • Create construction work packages for buildings, utilities, earthworks, mechanical etc..
  • Co-ordinate project design with engineering support, procurement, and construction to ensure overall project schedule, budgets and targets are achieved.
  • Communicate project requirements to the Design, Procurement and Construction teams.
  • Effectively define scopes of services and scopes of facilities/work across all disciplines and including engineering, procurement and construction.
  • Effectively manage scope changes and trends – actively identify quantity, cost and time trends and manage the change process.
  • Deliver accurate and meaningful project reports (or sub-reports) by tracking actual performance against planned performance, identifying, defining and closing out risk, and by consistently adopting the GRDi approach to project reporting.
