Description:
The Intermediate Project Engineer lead the coordination of project execution in accordance with client requirements and objectives, within cost and schedule constraints, and in adherence to quality procedures and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional Engineer registered and in good standing with Alberta Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA).
- 3-5 years of oil and gas industry experience.
- An undergraduate degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited University.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Responsibilities:
The day-to-day activities vary depending on the timing and complexity of the project; however, the typical expected responsibilities include:
- Coordinating specific multi-discipline functions or areas within the project scope encompassing engineering, procurement, fabrication, and commissioning (as applicable).
- Managing interfaces with key project stakeholders.
- Ensuring that the level of performance is in accordance with the contract specifications, within the budget limits, and that the execution of the project progresses as set down in the contract and the project baselines.
- Managing project scope and change management submissions and processes.
- Liaising with Project Planners-Schedulers and Project Cost Controls personnel, to prepare reports on project status and progress on a regular basis.
- Participating in Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) reviews, and Hazardous Operability Studies (HAZOPs).
- Preparing and reviewing line, equipment, instrumentation, and specialty items lists
- Coordinating and assisting with the sizing and selection of the project’s instrumentation and process equipment.
- Participating in Bid / Evaluate / Award process including development of Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages, bid evaluations, and Bill of Material (BOM) entry into Enterprise Resource Planning software.
- Checking vessel, structural, steel, piping spooling, assembly, and civil drawings.
- Participating in 3D model reviews and construction planning meetings.
- Coordinating and reviewing the compilation of the Project Data and Operating Manuals for distribution to the project team and client.
- Performing shop inspections and resolving Nonconformance Reports (NCRs).
- Reviewing ship loose lists.
- Resolving field Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Supervising junior or co-op student project engineers on temporary task level basis.
