Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for an Intermediate to Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Industrial and Infrastructure Business line in the Burnaby office.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as technical Lead to a group of engineers/designers within assigned project.
  • Review/Perform electrical engineering detail design calculations
  • Design station replacement equipment for BC Hydro such as circuit breakers, disconnects, etc.
  • Design and specify electric power systems and equipment for operation at power utilities, transportation, industrial, institutional and public sectors.
  • Perform engineering and electrical systems studies, design, technical evaluations, cost estimates, and options analysis for new equipment or modifications to existing equipment and systems.
  • Perform site visits to gather information required to initiate design. Perform field reviews during construction, and at project end.
  • Perform power system studies (short circuit, load flow, coordination, arc flash, ground grid, large MV motor starting).
  • Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including drawings, equipment and construction/installation specifications, and other supporting documentation.
  • Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with standards and QA/QC programs.
  • Direct and mentor junior staff. Provide technical advice and guidance.
  • Consult with other departments, suppliers and contractors to clarify specifications;
  • Prepare technical reports, tender documentation and field support (including commissioning/site inspection).
  • Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Assist in proposal preparation.
