ZAS is currently seeking Intermediate and Senior Level Interior Design Technologists to join our Vancouver office and grow with us. Current and prospective Vancouver office projects are almost exclusively commercial / retail / institutional tenant improvements projects. SKILLS REQUIRED

Our ideal candidate will hold a degree in Architectural/Interior Design Technology. We are looking for a talented and well-rounded individual who enjoys both the design and technical elements of Interior Design and Architecture. Time management and the ability to contribute to meeting deadlines are the attributes we expect from all of our employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Residence within commuting distance to downtown Vancouver, BC.
  • Strong design, graphic and presentation skills, including the ability to translate ideas from concept to detailed drawings.
  • Experience (minimum 5 years post-graduation) in an architectural office environment.
  • Experience in significant project phases from concept through construction completion.
  • Experience with and interest in tenant improvements.
  • Experience with AutoCAD (required) and Revit (an asset) software.
  • Excellent understanding of BC Building Code, Vancouver Building Code Bylaws, and basic building envelope concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member, and to incorporate direction well.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
  • Highly motivated, detail oriented and dependable, taking ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop construction drawing packages including construction and millwork drawings.
  • A desire to gain real-world skills that will aid you throughout your career.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of assuming increasing responsibility for both current and future projects and who is interested in growing with the firm.
    Job Type: Full-time, (3 months’ probation period), hybrid (minimum 3 days/week in office)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design development of projects and the production of drawings in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Resolve complex design and technical issues.
  • Advance in-house technical and quality standards.
  • Coordination and review with project team, across all disciplines.
  • Prepare presentation materials utilizing 3D software.
  • Assist the Project Manager in all project phases, from concept through contract administration and close-out.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and supervision to team members.
