Description:

Fortinet is looking for a Software QA Analyst to join our Ottawa office. If you are a driven and motivated self-starter that wants to contribute directly to the success of your team, this is a position for you.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • We are open to hiring Intermediate Software QA Developer (3-5 years of experience)
  • Academic Software development and/or testing experience
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of OpenSSL, Apache, Iptables, MySQL, Tcpdump and Wireshark
  • Good knowledge of security, i.e. firewall, encryption, PKI, x509 certificates
  • Experience with Sendmail, Exchange server and Microsoft Active Directory service is desirable
  • Experience with virtualization platform like VMware, KVM, Xen is a plus
  • Experience with using cloud native solutions and infrastructure automation on Azure, AWS, GCP,DevOps, K8S, IAM,Cloud Security Controls etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to logically and analytically troubleshoot software
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear and reproducible problem reports, and test results
  • Knowledge of general QA procedures, methodologies and software development fundamentals
  • Experience with configuring, installing, and troubleshooting PC/server software and hardware in a Windows or Linux environment
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate well with other departments
  • Ability to work on assigned tasks under tight time constraints

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

*Minimum Bachelors’ degree or Technical diploma in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement, deploy, maintain, test, and monitor cloud instances.
  • Collect and analyze running instances data, providing feedback to developers and the infrastructure team for further enhancement.
  • Review existing cloud instance and internal procedural processes.
  • Create, maintain, and execute specifications throughout the software development life cycle to maximize the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall quality of software products. Work closely with developers to ensure defects are correctly identified and fixed.
  • Write scripts to automate testing cases and monitor systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on customers’ cloud instances.
