We are currently looking for an Intermediate Water Resource Engineer to join our Vancouver Water Resources and Infrastructure Group. This position will be part of a dynamic team of engineers and scientists engaged in a wide range of local and national projects providing engineering and scientific services in a wide range of disciplines, including Municipal Engineering, Hydrology, River Engineering, Stormwater Management, Dam Engineering, and Hydraulic Modelling.
The salary range for this position is $75K to $90K per annum. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
The ideal candidate is passionate about and enjoys working on a wide variety of projects from planning through to design and construction. At the municipal level we are looking for people able to assist our team in developing stormwater management solutions, in developing water supply designs, in exploring water conservation ideas, and in designing and building municipal infrastructure. The ability to see tasks through to completion is critical. Candidate must be fluent in English and must be able to manage construction projects using MMCD.

Responsibilities:
- Project Support: Manage and deliver water resources and municipal engineering projects. Using internal junior staff and the support of our inhouse experts, manage the delivery of multidisciplinary assignments.
- Design and Analysis: Conduct engineering calculations, support the development of design plans, and perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for stormwater management, flood control, wastewater treatment, and water supply projects. We have an entire team ready and available to support your projects. You will also have access to a team of CAD designers familiar with GIS Mapping, Civil3D, and Pipe Networks.Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze relevant data, such as rainfall patterns, flow rates, and water quality data, to support engineering designs and evaluations. Several of our more junior engineers are available to support these projects.
- Field Work: Conduct site visits and field investigations to assess existing infrastructure, identify potential issues, and gather necessary data for project development. All of our junior staff have worked on construction projects and are available to support your projects.
- Permitting and Compliance: Assist in the preparation of permit applications and ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations pertaining to water resources and municipal engineering projects.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering drawings to communicate design plans and project findings effectively.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, geotechnical engineers, and clients, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest industry standards, regulations, and advancements in water resources and municipal engineering through continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
- Construction Management: Willing to manage the construction activities. Willing to work with contractors and clients and assist them in implementing our design plans.
- Prepare proposals and deal directly with clients in defining project scopes, schedules and budgets.
- Manage municipal design and construction projects.
- Train junior staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Over 2 years of progressive relevant engineering experience is essential. We are looking for local experience in land development or other municipal experience.
- Experience or aptitude for proposal writing, client development, working in a team setting to meet timelines and other skills appropriate to consulting.
- Registered P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) in British Columbia in a plus.
- Registered or eligible to register immediately as an Engineer in Training with EGBC.
- Familiarity with MMCD is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD.
- Knowledge: Familiar with water resources engineering principles, stormwater management practices, and municipal infrastructure systems.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute positively to project teams.
