Description:

Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.

Responsibilities:

  • Review drawings.
  • Create and update shop orders, breaking down budgets, sequencing work, incorporating all revisions, and adding hold or inspection points to achieve workability and maximum efficiency on production floor.
  • Understand production schedules, assigns change scope due dates and incorporates changes in a manner to minimize impact to production.
  • Apply and lift shop order stop work orders to allow for incorporation of changes with minimal rework.
  • Review and maintain data in ERP, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders (Engineering, Production support, Operations, CMDM) when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
