Description:
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A keen eye for editing written communication products
- Working knowledge of the Adobe Suite of products, including Adobe Illustrator, Premiere and Photoshop
- Experience using graphic design programs (such as Canva for creating visual communications
- Strong computer skills
- Exceptional organization and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Experience with digital communications (e.g. emails, newsletters)
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
- A valid G or G2 level driver’s license
DESIRABLE SKILLS INCLUDE:
- Familiarity filming and/or editing video
- Knowledge of how to write in Canadian Press Style
Responsibilities:
POSITION PURPOSE:
We are seeking an enthusiastic recent graduate of an accredited communications or public relations post-secondary or post-graduate program seeking hands-on experience to join our award-winning Employee Communications Team.
As a part of the People and Transformation department, the candidate will lend their communications and digital design expertise to inform and engage approximately 1,500 office and field employees across nine locations. The candidate will be part of a small team, that prioritizes caring for each other, helping each other reach their potential, and providing opportunity to work on tasks that align with our corporate vision and strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be involved in several key areas related to employee communications and engagement campaigns and will become proficient utilizing all of Alectra’s internal communications channels. Duties include designing and writing copy for internal daily publications; designing digital media on a regular basis; supporting campaigns and activities from across the organization; and supporting the planning and execution of corporate employee events.
