Description:

Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.
The Intern, Engineering Services will be responsible for assisting the Engineering Services team in the successful completion of an Integrated Cadmatic eShare to Aras PLM integration. This is a unique opportunity that will provide you with exposure to marine mechanical, structural, and electrical systems from the design and concept preparation phases. You will work closely with the ILS Sustainment and Provisioning Lead and respective ILS Project Engineers to review and verify equipment Part Numbers, Tag Numbers, and related technical data for integrating eShare and Aras PLM.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of a state-of-the-art 3D viewing tool, Cadmatic eShare, by assisting in the development of an integration between eShare and the shipyards PLM system.
  • Participating in meetings with various internal stakeholders from the following departments: Engineering Services, In Service Support (ISS), Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), Information Technology (IT).
  • Perform analysis of the data being integrated between eShare and PLM to ensure alignment and quality. Contact vendors/stakeholders to investigate and rectify any gaps in data quality.
  • Review and verification of alignment between Equipment Part Numbers, Tag Numbers, and Technical Documentation.
  • Determine which technical documentation (System Diagrams, Production Drawings, Vendor Specifications, etc.) from PLM will be linked to eShare.
  • Help on linking Cadmatic eShare and the PLM system.
