Reporting to the Manager, Finance Planning/Analysis, the Intern, Finance supports the accounting and reporting responsibilities for Seaspan Marine Group. The role will include month-end entries, account reconciliations, supervising of accounts, preparing accruals, analysis of results, financial reporting, documentation of procedures and project support. This position supports all aspects of operational finance & accounting within the division.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with special projects.
- Work on budget and forecast templates updates in support of team.
- Prepare and record month-end accounting journal entries.
- Assist with the preparation of month-end reports.
- Review and analyze accounts and results.
- Calculate and record month-end revenue and cost accruals.
- Reconcile various GL accounts.
- Reconcile accounts to sub-ledgers.
- Analyze account balances at month-end as needed.
- Other accounting and financial duties as required.
