ABOUT THE ROLE

We are offering a 4-month (January to April 2025) Geology internship based in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador at our Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) operations. Relocation to Labrador City is required for this role.
This internship will allow you to have direct exposure to mine engineering work on an active mine site. You will support different activities relating to IOC’s Geologist.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Assist with geotechnical pit inspections and the collection of geotechnical data from both active mine areas and brownfield properties.
• Complete field work and collect hydrogeological and geotechnical data from various technical instruments.
• Assist with geological and geotechnical core logging and sampling to collect pertinent data and ensure timely processing of samples.
• Work to high standards for quality assurance, quality control and data validation of for all geological data.
