Description:

Purpose Statement: The Quality Intern is responsible to support and learn about the processes involved in ensuring product quality. This may include tasks such as testing, analyzing data, identifying defects, and collaborating with the team to enhance product quality.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure continuous quality compliance during manufacturing operations. Monitor on-going manufacturing operations to ensure quality issues are quickly addressed; provide quality alerts and lead containment and purges, when required. Lead the development of the inspection strategy for receiving inspection, pre-ship inspection, and out-of-box-audits. Ensure Certificates of Compliance are created and maintained, including documentation of deviations. Ensure creation and maintenance of manufacturing quality history documentation, as required.
  • Support Quality Engineering initiatives.
  • Development of Quality initiatives.
  • Quality; Understands and follows Plexus quality policy guidelines, customer specifications and adheres to regulatory compliance, Monitors own work to ensure quality standard is met, Looks for opportunities to improve quality and eliminate waste at work, Delivers work in way a that eliminates scrap or rework, Keeps supervisors informed and escalates issues when needed
  • Drive Proactive Continuous Improvement on Yield & Quality Metrics; Designing templates for documents, file types, and document databases, Driving the cross-functional team to deliver continual improvement activities for internal processes deliverables
  • Provide Supervision to QA Inspectors/Technicians; Guide QA operators/group leaders/technicians in ongoing quality improvement activities

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred
  • no related experience is required
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Other Qualifications:

  • Role will work in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment with required personal protective equipment.
  • Facilities include comfortable temperatures, repetitive low noise level and suitable lighting for required tasks.
  • May require physical stamina with strong manual dexterity and fine motor control with precise measurement equipment or delicate tools and components requiring a steady touch.
  • Visual inspection may require acute near vision and the ability to work continually using magnifiers, cameras and other vision systems.
  • Role will spend a majority of the time standing and sitting with limited activities including lifting packages, moving material and working around lifting and material movement equipment as needed.
  • Role may include repetitive computer tasks in different types of software creating, editing and saving quality records.
