BDO Ireland is in search of a dynamic Internal Audit Director who is eager to embrace a fresh challenge within our innovative and forward-looking Risk and Advisory Services Department. As a Director within the Risk Advisory Services (RAS) team at BDO, you will play a pivotal role in managing risk for our clients, helping them build resilient businesses in today’s ever-changing business landscape.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor with strong Third Party Assurance (TPA) experience, specifically in service organization controls (SOC) reporting. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and enhancing our internal controls, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will need experience in carrying out SOC1 and SOC2 reports, typically under ISAE 3000 standards.
This position offers a significant opportunity to grow our SOC reporting offering, leveraging the strong network and intellectual property across BDO firms globally. The ideal candidate will have excellent client and team management experience.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Relevant qualifications or relevant experience in risk management, internal audit, and systems/controls testing.
  • 4+ years managing and inspiring high-performance teams.
  • Demonstrate previous experience in managing people and possess a deep understanding of commercial sectors relevant to BDO clients.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative team culture, ensuring effective communication and coordination with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in presenting audit findings, recommendations, and reports to senior management and clients, demonstrating a strategic and impactful communication style.
  • Stay informed about compliance, legislative, and market issues affecting client businesses.
