We have an exciting full-time opportunity available for an Internal Auditor at our head office in London, Ontario. Please note that this position is designed where the candidate will work either from a Quebec based Emco location or work from London, Ontario. Travel within the province of Quebec is expected in addition to travel to London, ON for team meetings on quarterly basis and travel throughout Canada as required from time to tie.

Nous avons un poste stimulant à plein temps pour un vérificateur/une vérificatrice interne dans notre siège social de London, en Ontario. Prenez note que ce poste est conçu pour permettre au candidat/à la candidate de travailler soit à partir d’un centre Emco au Québec, soit à London, en Ontario. Des déplacements dans la province du Québec seront requis et pour participer en personne à des réunions trimestrielles à London, en Ontario, en plus de déplacements de temps à autre à d’autres endroits au Canada.
Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree and/or college diploma
- Bilingual communication: French and English is required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A minimum of one year of work experience as an auditor, accountant, or operations analyst
- Sustained strong performance in current position and in-depth knowledge of business operations and relevant support services
- Positive attitude, professionalism, embraces and lives into Emco’s Core Values
- Ability to communicate financial and operational information to all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to create and deliver training to teammates at all levels of an organization
- Self-starter with a strong attention to detail
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to our locations across Canada as required

PREFERRED SKILLS
- CPA designation or CIA certification are an asset

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
As the Internal Auditor, you will provide support and guidance to our 280 locations across Canada on financial accuracy, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. You will examine and improve operating practices, and financial and risk management processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assurance and Training
- Lead value added operational reviews of our locations that identify risks within all business processes, the implications of the associated risks or noncompliance with policies and action plans for the Manager to implement
- Identify and document within the operational review recommendations to improve the profitability, efficiency and security of our locations
- Debrief the findings of the operational review with the local manager to ensure alignment of actions that will address the risks identified
- Coach and advise new Managers in developing their understanding of all the policies and best practices within Emco including the controls, systems and reports that are at their disposal which will enable them to lead a successful business
- Strong and in-depth understanding of all roles, process, and best practices within our locations
- Steward of Health and Safety for the company to ensure an environment is created and sustained to reinforce that “No one at Emco gets hurt”
- Provide leadership and training to lead inventory observers across our network of locations to ensure annual inventory counts are successful
- Create and publish training materials for Managers and teammates to enhance their knowledge of processes, systems and critical financial and operational concepts
Strategic and effective liaison between our locations across Canada and head office
Collaboration
Creates and sustains strong relationships with all members of the Management Team
- Working knowledge of all roles and support services within the head office
Collaborates with teammates to ensure inquiries are efficiently resolved and training opportunities are identified
Data Analytics
Perform data collection, analysis and reporting to support audit projects and initiatives
- Identify data trends, inconsistencies and/or anomalies that require further investigation
- Publish and communicate data analytics on key risks that influence behaviour change to enhance controls and profitability
- Proactively identify risks and find innovative approaches and solutions to mitigate risks and improve business controls
Provide valuable and actionable information for management to make decisions to address business issues or opportunities
Leadership of Policies and Projects
Write and update Standard Practice Instructions (company policies), Job Aids and supplements to ensure necessary controls are communicated clearly and unnecessary steps are eliminated
- Add value as a trusted business advisor in a variety of roles including, acquisition due diligence, integration of acquisitions, fraud investigations, process improvement teams, external audits, etc.
