We are seeking an experienced Auditor or Safety Advisor to join our Risk and Compliance Team.
About the role
This is a rare and exciting opportunity within the Internal Audit space. As an Internal Auditor, you will work with our Internal Audit & Insurance Manager to undertake site based internal audits across NSW & ACT. Your role will support the business to meet external obligations, identify continuous improvement opportunities, manage risk considerations and implement best practice.
You will work with business stakeholders, including both store and support office team to undertake the internal audit process reporting back to the business on level of compliance with Bunnings Policy, procedure and external legislative requirements.

As an Internal Auditor you will:

  • Coordinate and participate in internal audits, including fieldwork to ensure progress of the process across the NSW and ACT area.
  • Provide feedback to the Senior Internal Auditors on program performance and opportunities
  • Participate in desktop audits to address risk at a functional business level
  • Coach and support stakeholders in operations on compliance best practise
  • Prepare reports for review by stakeholders on results of all internal audits and factors to be addressed
  • Assist the Wesfarmers Group Internal Audit function to deliver high quality financial and compliance internal audits and contribute to the achievement of the Group Internal Audit Plan

Who we’re looking for:
Joining a supportive and collaborative team you will bring demonstrated experience within the safety and compliance space and well-developed skills within internal audit or related field. You will be able to engage with stakeholders of all levels to build trusted relationships and be a true advocate of the benefits of the internal audit function to the business.
This role would suit an established safety or operations professional looking to transition their career into a new stream or an experienced internal auditor with safety and compliance knowledge who is ready for their next step in their career!

You’ll additionally need:

  • Prior experience or knowledge in OH&S, ideally coupled with a qualification in an aligned discipline is advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience across internal auditing or related field
  • Understanding of the retail landscape with experience in store operations highly desirable
  • Well-developed communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience or exposure to leading, coaching, mentoring and guiding other team or direct reports
  • Current drivers licence is essential as regular travel both locally, interstate and internationally is require for this role. Overnight travel will be involved.
  • Passport required for some international travel to New Zealand
