Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Internal Auditor to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. The role involves analyzing, appraising, and making recommendations for various university activities. You will be expected to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting activity, with a goal of adding value and helping the university achieve its goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess the adequacy of institution’s compliance efforts
  • Conduct audits of various organization activities and processes
  • Develop and implement an audit program
  • Document audit findings and prepare audit reports
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of action plans in response to audit findings
  • Provide management and the Board of Visitors with objective analyses and appraisals
  • Utilize accounting software systems to track and analyze data
  • Ensure all auditing activities align with industry standards and regulations
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of audit processes.
  • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems
  • Familiarity with Audit Program development and execution
  • Knowledge of various Accounting Functions
  • Experience in preparing and presenting Audit Findings
  • Expertise in Auditing practices and principles
  • Ability to create detailed Audit Reports
  • Understanding of Compliance requirements in the non-profit sector
  • Experience in conducting Internal Audits
  • Strong Documentation skills
