ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.
Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist to join our team at Osborne SA, working on the SSN-AUKUS conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarine build program.
Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement, you will play a pivotal role managing internal communications and engagement requirements during the foundational stages of the newly established SSN-AUKUS program. As our Internal Communication and Engagement Specialist embedded in the program, you will help create a world-class internal communications function that builds interpersonal connectivity, deep engagement and a positive culture as the program moves towards the establishment of an integrated joint venture entity.
This role will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders within ASC’s SSN-AUKUS program and across the wider organisation, as well as external stakeholders, including joint partner BAE Systems and the Australian Submarine Agency. Please note: A degree of flexibility is required with working hours to support communications and engagement with UK-based BAE Systems personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Provide internal communications and engagement advice and support to senior leaders
- Develop internal communications and plans, ensuring they are aligned to operational requirements and strategic ASC business messaging.
- Manage stakeholder engagement to ensure that all stakeholders are engaged during project implementation.
- Simplify complex operational issues and communicate efficiently with a diverse audience across multiple locations and using multiple channels.
- Support delivery of business wide projects by providing effective and engaging communications advice and support to employees and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement strategic communication project plans to deliver improvements to culture and employee engagement.
- Ensure internal communications activities occur within approved frameworks and within agreed timeframes.
