ABOUT THE JOB:

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate person looking for a role in Internal Communications. Internal Communications in Dublin Simon Community is a key part of the Human Resources team. You will influence and shape how we progress our internal communications agenda and further develop our content & channels. You will also be responsible for sourcing and creating content to share with all our teams.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in communication/administration/marketing/events/coordination.
  • Excellent IT skills and experienced Microsoft Office 365 user (Sharepoint, Teams, Outlook, Excel, Visio, Sway etc).
  • Stakeholder-focused, meticulous with strong attention to detail and excellent communicator.
  • Demonstratable interpersonal skills, with the ability to self-motivate and think positively.
  • BA/BS degree. Ideally in communications, marketing, PR, sales, events, business.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in internal communications and/or the non-profit sector.
  • Experience of writing content for newsletters, broadcast emails etc.
  • Experience using IT publishing and communications applications (e.g. Canva)
  • Understanding of homeless issues in Ireland and the areas that Dublin Simon Community operate in.
  • Passion for helping people, with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment with a problem-solving attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the internal communications plan in line with strategic and operational requirements.
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communication channels for communicating with managers and staff internally, ensuring the alignment of internal and external messages and communications.
  • Identity and develop communication channels to meet the varying needs of a dispersed workforce.
  • Responsible for the delivery of All Staff meetings ensuring all elements are in place for a successful event.
  • Build meaningful internal stakeholder relationships at all levels of the organisation to effectively identify, commission and promote quality content and usage across internal communications platforms, ensuring all internal communications content is consistent with our brand and tone of voice.
  • Support the implementation of feedback mechanisms to facilitate staff feedback and the interpretation of feedback/data to improve internal communications and employee engagement.
  • Develop internal branding and support promotion of our employer brand.
  • Proactively identify areas to improve the internal communications channels and content. Implement any approved improvements.
