ABOUT US

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We are driving fast paced, transformational change that is allowing us to save more lives in new and innovative ways. Our lifeboat crews and lifeguards need a dedicated, professional and talented team behind them so they can operate to the highest standards and save lives at sea.

ABOUT YOU

You will be organised and adaptable, and able to hit the ground running in a complex environment. You will be well supported by the team, but we are looking for someone who is self-motivated and confident.

Responsibilities:

Are you a creative thinker who is passionate about internal communications and supporting the RNLI’s lifesaving work? Do you have experience in developing and delivering communications plans for strategic projects?
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Internal Communications Officerto support a major strategic change programme that will leverage modern technology to deliver a new integrated approach for the RNLI’s core business processes.
You will develop and execute internal communications plans to engage staff and volunteers, drive awareness, build interest and ensure alignment between the programme and our organisational communications activity.
Working across both the programme team and the Internal Communications Team, you’ll ensure that communications are well-paced, effective, inclusive, simple and powerful. Experience and understanding of communicating across a large, busy and complex organisation is essential for this role. You will be confident working across multiple projects within a large programme and managing a busy workload. You will provide creative solutions to maximise the impact and reach of communications across the RNLI.
Working with volunteers and staff around the UK and Ireland, you will play a key role in joining-up activity across projects and teams; helping our people understand what is happening across the programme and how it will support the RNLI save lives at sea. Building strong relationships based on trust and support is an important part of this role, so you will enjoy working with, coaching, and advising people at all levels.
As the charity enters its third century of lifesaving, this is an exciting time to join a creative, passionate and fun team of communications professionals, who are dedicated to helping our people love being part of the RNLI.
