GBS Shared Services is a global, customer-centric team of 1200+ colleagues in four countries (Costa Rica, Hungary, Phillipines and the UK), with the vision to transform how we work at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Communications and Community Engagement Specialist II. role will support our GBS Shared Services Site in Manila, reporting to the Global GBS Shared Services Sr Communications manager.
The Communications and Community Engagement Specialist II. role is responsible for championing local site culture and handling internal communications, including the production and coordination of employee communications at the GBS Manila site.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the GBS Manila site by driving key communication initiatives and through the maintenance of all internal communications channels (intranet, monthly newsletter, Viva Engage screens, etc)
  • Work closely with local Business Resource Groups and champion site events together with the GBS Leadership Team, to nurture a strong internal culture.
  • Support various internal and external events from a communications perspective.
  • Work in close partnership with the Sr Communications Manager in GBS and a global communications team, to develop and implement internal communication and employee engagement strategies and plans.
  • Support employee communications through numerous channels, including print, e-mail, video, intranet and other channels that may not yet be in use.
  • Support employee involvement in the company’s social responsibility initiatives.
  • Manage third-party vendors, including agencies, designers, printers and freelancers, and associated budgets to ensure effective use of services.
