Description:
Recruit to Train Psychological Therapist – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Only open to current Band 6’s working in the IMHT Stafford team*
Are you a registered clinical practitioner (e.g. nurse, OT, or via KSA route) with experience in working with people with mental health difficulties wanting to train to become a Psychological Therapist. Within this post, you will complete a postgraduate diploma with University College London (UCL) and be working towards becoming an accredited psychological therapist.
Initially you will be employed at a Band 6 with progression inbuilt and be situated within the Stafford Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) (Foundation House, St George’s Hospital). Upon successful completion of the postgraduate diploma the post-holder will be able to provide evidence-based cognitive behavioural interventions for people with a wide range of complex problems, including trauma and personality disorder and there will be opportunities for a band 7 psychological therapist post.
Your primary goal will involve providing NICE concordant CBT interventions to service users with complex mental health needs. Excitingly, you will work closely with Senior Clinical Psychologists and Consultant Clinical Psychologists in your service area to develop service pathways and provision.
- Working within the IMHT and dedicating the majority of time engaging in the clinical provision of evidence based psychological interventions with clients experiencing significant mental health problems or activity directly related to this.
- Ensuring the continuing development of a person centred, recovery focused model of care, enhancing service user and carer involvement.
- Engaging with a wide spectrum of agencies, statutory and voluntary to enhance client care and minimise social exclusion and to promote, by example high standards of care and positive values.
- Advising and consulting with team colleagues on the psychological therapy component of care packages and treatment plans.
- Please see the job description for more details
