Expressions of Interest are invited from SSHIS Colleagues for an opportunity to work within the Application Development Team in the full time and permanent position of a Workflow Designer. The successful candidate will work within the Application Development Team primarily on the fUSION platform as we continue to develop new workflows for both the SSHIS and our Customers and Partners. In addition to the fUSION workload, the team are also working directly with the SSHIS Programme Team and Senior Management Team in the redesign and development of SMTv2.
Experience in a similar development role would be hugely beneficial as the Team’s workload is growing, however applications from colleagues with a keen interest in furthering their career in this direction will also be considered.

The key focus of this role is to support the design and development of bespoke applications, databases and fUSION workflows within the SSHIS.
This role incorporates the need to provide support to users on various applications via training and demonstrations of systems produced.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To design and implement workflow solutions using the bespoke fUSION Platform in accordance with the Customer requirements and project plans
  • Support the design and development of applications using a range of software development tools such as Visual Studio: - ASP.NET, MVC, C#, JavaScript (JQuery/AJAX) , XHTML, CSS,Angualr/Angular2
  • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of user requirements into technical requirements with associated documentation.
  • Assist the project / programme managers, Support staff and Service Delivery Lead in developing delivery timeframes by identifying key development activities, and technical dependencies and risks.
  • Play a role in the planning and delivery of systems and Application Development that will have impact right across the SSHIS that will set its future direction.
  • Participate when required in the planning meetings and user groups for services both internal and external to the organisation.
  • Support the design, configuration, implementation, maintenance and support of applications to support the framework set out above.
  • Contribute towards defining Service Level Agreements and maintenance procedures for the in-house development of Applications.
  • Assist in the creation of training material and user guides and the delivery of such materials to end users.
  • Produce documentation for systems development and modification requests.
  • Finding and fixing bugs in complex software solutions
