Job Profile:
Vista Global, the global business aviation group, is looking for an International Financial Controller to lead the International Accounting and Reporting function in a fast pace and changing environment.
Based at the Group’s London office, you will report to the Group Financial Controller and be leading the local Entity Accounting teams in various locations including Malta, Germany, India and the UK which manage over 40 global subsidiaries, comprising the VistaJet Group, Air Hamburg and Vista Global holding company level entities.
These teams are responsible for the entity accounting and reporting which form part of Group’s quarterly and annual consolidated & standalone IFRS financial statements for external reporting and more regular management reporting.
Your Responsibilities:
We are looking for a determined and focussed leader that takes responsibility for managing the International financial reporting process within the group, rigorously managing the financial reporting calendar and driving the process to ensure consistent, timely, accurate and relevant reporting.
- Lead a multi-location accounting and reporting team that includes setting objectives, coaching, developing and performance management.
- Owning the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting calendar, ensuring proper communication of responsibilities and deadlines throughout the teams and rigorously managing various team leaders to ensure consistent, timely, accurate and relevant reporting.
- Liaising with the group external auditors to manage and co-ordinate the audit/interim review of the International groups financial statements to PCAOB standards.
- Taking an active part in the Group Reporting Team leadership, liaising with your peer, the US Financial Controller and coordinating with the Group Finance Director.
- Working with the Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Finance teams to ensure a full understanding of the International financials.
- Collaboration with the Technical Accounting department on significant or unusual transactions and ownership of resulting changes to processes.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of the Group Accounting manual, led by the Technical Accounting department, and enforcing group accounting policies and supporting accounting treatments.
- Ensuring that the knowledge and experience required to carry out the respective functions is adequately represented across the team to minimise dependency on individual team members and ensure continuity in the performance of the designated activities.
- Preparing ad hoc reports on matters relevant to the business as may be required from time to time by the Group CFO’s or other members of the Executive Committee.
- Driving a change agenda and continuous improvement initiatives to standardise and improve processes, reporting and controls, and implement best practice.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction in all/any aspects of the respective functions that impact the Group’s customers.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Strong understanding of IFRS reporting requirements and interpretation of new standards.
- Large, multi-entity and multi-currency experience.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with ability to manage own workload in a pressurised environment and work to tight deadlines. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong leadership skills with an ability to lead multiple global teams to deliver against tight reporting deadlines.
- Team player who can operate globally, cross-functionally and at all levels of the organisation, taking ownership and demonstrating initiative. Being prepared to get into the detail where needed and supporting/coaching team members.
- Possess an inquisitive and analytical mindset and be able to understand the commercial and operational side of the business and relate it to the financial performance and metrics that are being reported.
- Should demonstrate values, skills and behaviours that are consistent with Vista Global’s core values.
- Experience working with ERP financial systems, SAP ERP desirable but not essential.
